CUO-presses are particularly ideal for a
limited production program including only a
few different pipe dimensions at a high
production rate.
The metal sheet or plate is pressed down
by a hydraulically driven bending tool
between 2 bending cheeks. To a large
extent the tool width corresponds to the
inside diameter of the pipe. During the
downward movement of the inner tool the
bending cheeks press from the outside. By
means of this, the metal sheet or plate can
be pre-bent to an U-shape in the U-press.
The pipe bent to an U-shape is moved from the U-press to the O-press
where it is brought into its final shape.
Within the O-press, the pipe is placed inside the lower half round die.
The upper die has a half round shape as well. By means of pushing
down the upper die, the pipe is pressed against the die wall and is
given a round shape.
